DGSRC / Tennis Titans and US Tennis Association (USTA) Tennis Program
DGSRC / Tennis Titans will continue to follow the USTA’s Youth Tennis Program. The program takes a new approach to teach kids how to play tennis and suits the curriculum (courts, balls, etc.) to the students’ ability level leading to a more entertaining experience. For more information see below or visit the USTA website.
Classes should be selected based on skill level. Age groups are provided for general guidance. If you need help selecting a level, please contact [email protected].
*Only paid DGSRC members are eligible to participate in tennis and pickle-ball programs.*
Class Level Descriptions:
RED Ball: Tennis for the beginner; Red Ball classes use a slower ball and a smaller court (36′). Enables players to rally and develop skills sooner than standard equipment. The recommended racquet is 23″ and below. (Ages ~ 4-6)
ORANGE Ball: Uses a faster ball and 60′ court; focus on technique (forehand, backhand, volleys) and tactics. The recommended racquet is 25″ and below. (Ages ~ 7-10)
GREEN/YELLOW Ball: Uses a faster ball and full-size court (78′); focus on improving strokes with direction and pace. The recommended racquet is 25″-27″ and below. (Ages ~ 11-14)
INTERMEDIATE: Standard tennis ball; emphasis on consistency of strokes, control, and placement of shots. Beginning of some competitive play; players will work on singles and doubles strategy. (Ages 10+ with previous tennis experience per the description above)
DGSRC also offers an Orange and Green ball class that combines the two levels. The goal of this class is to help bridge the gap between the levels + provides some scheduling flexibility.
Please ensure to sign up for the appropriate level based on age/skill. Participants signed up for too high of a level may be asked to move down in order to maintain the level of play for others.
Weekly Session Dates
All classes will be taught or supervised by our head pro with a small student-to-pro ratio to optimize individual instruction.

Lesson Make-Up Policy:
DGSRC utilizes the RainedOut system for notification of class cancellations – If the weather takes a turn for the worse on your scheduled lesson day (rain, thunderstorms, or other conditions that make playing dangerous and/or leave the courts wet), you will receive a text message letting you know that class has been canceled. Information on how to sign-up for RainedOut will be provided on the first day of lessons + posted on the court bulletin board.
If lessons are canceled due to weather, please assume that the class will be made-up on Friday of the same week.
Refunds:
- We cannot offer refunds for booked lessons. If cancellation is due to a medical emergency, please contact [email protected].
- Tennis lessons will be posted for the final four-session weeks in mid-June. This will allow our tennis student the time to determine if they need to register for a different tennis lesson level based on improvement.
REGISTRATION:
Registration for the first 3 weeks of the summer will be available March 2026. Remaining weeks will be posted at a later time. Keep an eye on your membership e-mails for further details.
